Online Flirting: What Doesn’t Work

Flirting online is fun; everyone does it. But how would we know that we are already “over-acting?” Below are the ways to tell which flirting style doesn’t work.

Never Use a cheesy, pathetic pick-up line: In Internet dating, using a pick-up line is totally okay. But each one of us must be careful that what you throw on to the other person isn’t already over-used. Also, it is much better if we use our self-made pick-up line instead of just getting something from the internet for flirting.

Don’t be such a Drama Queen (or King): Especially when you’re not getting any attention, sulking isn’t much of a great idea. If nobody wants to talk to you or is flirting with you in a particular chat room, just leave and find a new room where you will get noticed.

Never put yourself down: Remember that you are just flirting so it is totally pointless to pull yourself down and make the person-you’re-flirting-with’s life miserable as well.

Stop Playing Grade-School Games: Calling someone names isn’t a very good idea in online flirting. However, “baby” or “sweetie” is an Ok word to call somebody especially if you’re dating that person, but puhlease, avoid calling someone “baby cakes” or “cheese cake.” It’s just too corny.

Exchange (dirty) little secret in flirting… BUT be careful with what you are revealing. You don’t want the other person to know about the bad habit you wanted to change but can’t right? It’s just a major turn-off.

Never demand someone to strip off for you while flirting: Especially when you are looking for more than just casual sex, ordering the other person to strip isn’t nice. If you think demanding someone to strip off in front of his or her computer is cute, well it isn’t. If you want to find a new romance, there is an appropriate time and place for that.

Avoid NOT being yourself: Flirting is fun and it is much better if you stay true to yourself. Don’t be afraid to say no if you are not comfortable with the situation.

Just say No: There is a fine line between being arrogant and keeping your safety. Always remember that in online flirting, saying “No” to something you don’t want to do is just ok. After all, you don’t know him in the first place so there is no big deal.

Online flirting can be real fun and dangerous. Nevertheless, everyone must know when to do what and when to say what.
